![]() Sinulog10s Champions New and old spectators to Rugby crowded the field in anticipation as they witnessed hard tackles and quick passing by both teams but the fired up Eagles started the game with a bang and ran in two quick tries in the 1st half. The Nomads, led by Romain Barberis, sparked in the 2nd half and fought back to score 2 tries to equal the game in full time. Eagles stepped up a gear in extra time and scored another 2 amazing tries utilizing there speed advantage against the Nomads. Nomads, with the never say die attitude, kept coming back but to no avail as they met the Eagles tough defense which was led by there captain, Tom Egerton, who had an amazing try saving tackle in the dying seconds of the game. In the Dragon’s Balls final, the experienced RSC Dalmations from Malaysia took home the Dragons Balls as they took on the Black Dragons of Cebu. The game looked close in the first half with a 1-1 score but the experience and strength of the Dalmations showed and ran in another 7 tries in the 2nd half. Maritime Academy of the Asia Pacific(MAAP), an all Filipino team from Bataan romped over the White Dragons to win the Dragon’s Tail Final 4-0. The Sinulogs 10’s Rugby Festival was the first of its kind in the region and coincided with the Sinulog Mardi Gras Festival in Cebu, which is held every 3rd Sunday of January. The Cebu Dragons Rugby Football Club will be holding another and bigger event for next year’s Sinulog Festival. ![]() Sinulog10s Competitors |
