The Philippine Under 19 National team departed for Kaoshiung, Taiwan (Sunday 6th December) to compete in the Asian qualifying for next years Under 19 World Cup to be held in Belfast. This is a landmark in Philippine rugby and is the first time the country has been represented in such a high profile International Tournament. The gathering of the squad which comprises of Philippine nationals, expatriates with three years residency and overseas players with Philippine heritage has been the brainchild of Randell Carmen the benefactor of Alabang Eagles RFC. Four local schools and colleges are represented those being Brent International, Faith Academy, International School Manila and the Maritime Academy of Asia Pacific. There is also a representative of the Cebu Dragons RFC from the Visayas. |

One of the Agenda items to be voted upon for the upcoming PRFU AGM, is the adoption of the revised (version 3) draft PRFU constitution. This document which is based on the Singapore RFU constitution, is being made available prior to the meeting to the public for perusal and can be downloaded below.

The PRFU wish to announce its Annual General Meeting (AGM). Each registered PRFU club will be able to nominate a representative who will vote on issues. Any club or individual may nominate candidates for board membership. These nominees shall be required to submit a short summary of rugby experience and what they intend to contribute if elected. All players and interested rugby administrators and supporters are invited to attend and may speak but only the nominated club representative(s) may vote. Date:

Arch rival rugby clubs Manila Nomad and Alabang Eagles met at Cuenca Field, Ayala Alabang Village for round 2 of the PRFU 15s League on Saturday 14th of October. Both men’s and ladies teams played each other in a fine display of Rugby & Touch Rugby.  Alabang vs Nomads The main game was between the two powerhouses of Philippine rugby who have a history of competition and now pride was at stake for this game. From the start of the game it was nip and tuck with tries coming in from both teams. Nomads had the more experienced and heavier pack but it was the Eagles possession of the ball and tactical kicking that won them the game. The Eagles won 34-24. |
